Farmed & foraged sustainably in the Adirondack foothills
Running Roots Farm is a young, regenerative farm nestled in the northern foothills of the Adirondack mountains. We currently grow a breadth of speciality mushroom and garlic varieties, have a small flock of ducks, and are continuing to diversify as we add perennial fruit & vegetable crops.
Our mission is to grow delicious, nutrient-dense food for our North Country community through farming practices that revitalize our farm’s meadows, forests, and wetlands.
What we offer
Year-round, we grow a diversity of mushroom varieties on certified organic oat hulls & pure hardwood sawdust. We never use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. We are also certified wild mushroom foragers, and sustainably harvest wild mushrooms from our farm & forest in summer and fall. Throughout the year, we also have fresh duck eggs from our small flock of pasture-raised ducks.
We also grow 8 speciality varieties of hardneck garlic, with flavor profiles ranging from smooth & mild to hot & spicy! We farm our garlic following organic practices. We have scapes beginning in June, and heads of garlic beginning the end of July.
